#50, 76, 87 91

I seriously thought I'd posted updates before now! I'm so falling down on my task. Lol. Anyways! Here is the updates on everything so far:

50. Paint & glue together Super Dungeon Explorers game

This one I suppose is not QUITE technically true, I've noticed we missed a few spots & I think there are 2 or 3 miniatures we haven't painted yet. But I'm gonna call it because you really can't tell they aren't painted. Took Cal & I way too many days in a row to do it, I know MY back was aching from the horrible hunched over position I was holding to paint the tiny things. I'll post a picture of some of the models a little later, the game is in my car for this weekend.

76. Watch a horror film all the way through

I watched Woman in Black on the floor, cuddling Cal & a blanket WAY TOO CLOSE on the night of my anniversary. We had decided it would be a good one because it was supposed to be not all that scary (THEY LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIED!!!!) & it had Daniel Radcliffe. I don't think I would ever watch it again, but then, horror films freak me out terribly & I tried to cause permanent crushing damage to Cal in parts. But I made it all the way through!

87. Make bread

A common theme for our in house date nights is cooking new & kinda complicated things. Last month we made homemade cinnamon dessert bread. I'd heard horror stories of yeast not behaving & all kinds of things, so I admit, I was quite nervous. But it all turned out perfectly & was pull apart yummy. Since then we've also made cheese crackers....those were not as awesome....

91. Private

Completed, sorry! That's all you get.

In Progress:

5. Make a list of 101 quotes that are inspirational - I've been combing my quotation books, it's been a lot of fun actually!

23. Visit 5 cities I've never been to - On a recent trip I went to 3 new cities

52. Complete the main storyline in Skyrim - I'm level 41 now & still having a blast! I'm not sure I'm really anywhere near the main quest line, been doing the quest line for the Mage College (the Arch Mage just died....& I may or may not have TOTALLY raided his entire room >.>) as well as the Thieves Guild (just got accepted as a member). Plus a bunch of side quests, as usual.

73. Reorganize & catalog my books - Is the next major project after the craft room (which is also shaping up pretty good now)

74. Cowrite with Cal - We have plans to start hashing out the details tomorrow (as well as another kinda in my head scary idea)

77. Watch the alphabet in movies - I've actually been doing decently at this, though I apparently really like movies that start with D...

84. Make 2 wallpapers a month or equivalent number - I'm 2 behind at the moment, though September hasn't ended yet! So in theory I'll catch up in time. I may at the end of the challenge post a link to all the wps made. Though to be warned, lately it's been a WHOLE lot of Doctor Who.

2012-2015 101 Things List

June 1st, 2012 to February 2nd, 2015 is the time frame this time around! You'll see some repeats from last year, some are rephrased some are word for word. This time around I organized it a bit better by category so it's easier to find stuff (last year was a pest on that fact!)

This will be continually updated as I complete things or begin progress on them. Also, if you notice any typos or errors let me know (I do know that after 100 the list gets a little off kilter looking, I'll try to fix it later)

The Doomsday List Revisted

I ended up completing 24 challenges, ALMOST a quarter of them. I  was working on (some of which I have lost interest in) 11 when the challenge ended. A few I was close to completing but most I wasn't remotely close at all.

I enjoyed having this list, though the way life went I really had no chance to achieve several of these. Which is okay, means I have more things to look forward to! 60. Write to Mercedes Lackey

This one was a failed attempt, lol. I wrote to the publisher instead since I could not find an address to write fan mail to. However I have the distinct feeling that my letter didn't get passed on to her, but I'm okay with that. I'm sure I didn't say anything new or earth shattering. Just an expression of the fact I enjoyed her work greatly.

65. Create a website for this project and maintain it

Not sure how well I really maintained it since I kept forgetting to update promptly, but I DID post continued updates the entire time, which I say qualifies me for marking it as completed.

68. Attend at least 2 plays a year

Mom and I got season tickets to the Sacramento Theater for the last few years, which has been fun, though this year's plays have been so-so for the most part. Fun, yes, but with the exception of Wicked (which is later this evening) none have been exactly memorable. Theater is a continued enjoyment for me I'm glad to say. Even more glad both my mom and Cal enjoy it just as much as me, shared love of something is even better.

57. See the last 2 HP movies at the midnight premiere

For the very last movie I saw it in 3D at the local theater (mostly because non 3D was sold out….). I really did enjoy it & being in 3D didn’t take away from it as it does sometimes. It just gave things depth, no cheap tricks of things flying at you. I did enjoy it, & I presume most of the theater did as well judging by the complete silence except for the sniffling. It did differ greatly from the books, but since I only read the book once & that was when it first came out, most of the stuff I just don’t recall anymore. I do wish I had been able to see some of the other characters older…even though I really wasn’t all that impressed with it…I think mostly I’m just sad to see the Harry Potter “era” end, even though there’s a theme park (I’m really thinking of trying to convince Cal to have our honeymoon in Orlando….for Universal’s HP (there’s BUTTERBEER FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!) as well as Disney World) plus the books will always be around. But I think in a lot of ways the fervor for it will die down.

63. Go to San Diego Comic-Con

Oooooooooooh, it was a great time! I literally ran into Vyxen from the Amazing Race (they were nice & let me take a photo with them!). Plus I saw Patricia Briggs when I was leaving one of the days & she happily posed for a photo with me. How awesome was that!?! I got an award ribbon from Girl Genius for my costume. I loved my costume, but I felt so subpar when I looked at a lot of the other steampunk costumes. They were so much more elaborate & awesome…Cal did point out a valid point though, I made ours from scratch as much as possible while there’s were store bought since there were repeat items. I still really loved the guy who had the working telegraph machine for a backpack. That was ingenious & amazing & awesome!! I’m not sure if I want to go back though, I mean it was great & fun. But, it’s a TON of work & would definitely want to be on the free transportation line so I could come & go as I pleased. But mostly, I keep finding so many other conventions (sorta eyeballing Gen Con next…) that it just isn’t feasible to try & go to multiple cons when 1 costs everything saved up & we’ve only gone to the ones that are DRIVEABLE. Gen Con isn’t really driveable, nor is DragonCon. Well, I will see how things fall. It’d be great to be able to go back to Comic Con, but it may be years & years from now, or it may somehow miraculously be next year. Either way, I know I’ll still be working on my costume to make it better. First off is a cooler top hat!

69. Keep my space clean for a month

I have for over a month, and you know, after the latest round of laundry & the weekend, the small amount of mess it made is driving me NUTS. Beyond belief nuts. I serious do prefer my room all neat and tidy now. Damn my goal of keeping my stuff cleaner and better organized!

80. Go rollerskating - April 26, 2011

Which I did if you count falling on my ass and gripping onto the fence and anything else within reach! I want to try out for roller derby but I have some serious obstacles I need to work on. Endurance (I still get tired over short amounts of time) and ability to skate without falling. Life is making things a little challenging to achieve on those ends, but I'm hoping that the tryouts for next season I'll be ready...or at least much closer to being ready, whatever city I'm in.
